What if better workplace communication began with understanding what happens beneath the surface?
This one-day program explores workplace communication through a trauma-informed lens, bringing together attachment, empathy, emotional intelligence and the principles of Nonviolent Communication. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of how people respond, relate and communicate under stress—and how greater awareness can create safer, more connected and more effective workplace relationships.
A practical and experiential day for anyone wanting to create healthier communication, stronger relationships and a more connected workplace.
Participants will gain:
· Greater insight into attachment styles and their influence on workplace relationships
· Practical strategies to strengthen empathy and emotional intelligence
· Skills for communicating more effectively during stress, conflict and challenging conversations
· An understanding of how trauma and nervous system responses can shape workplace interactions
· Practical Nonviolent Communication tools to support clarity, connection and respectful conflict resolution
· Greater capacity to build trust, psychological safety and relational connection within teams
Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance for 6 hours of CPD.
Together we will explore:
Trauma & Attachment in the Workplace - Brief overview of trauma and the nervous system- Window of Capacity & Polyvagal Theory . Introduction to adult attachment theory and styles (secure, anxious, avoidant, disorganised). How attachment styles show up in workplace relationships and leadership
Effective Communication through a Trauma-Informed Lens - The importance of psychological safety. Active listening & nonviolent communication. Addressing conflict with curiosity and compassion
Emotional Intelligence & Workplace Empathy - Self-awareness and emotional literacy. Empathy vs. sympathy . Managing workplace triggers and building capacity
Self-Regulation & Self-Care for Sustainable Work - Understanding stress responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn)- Revisit Polyvagal Theory in relation to self. Nervous system regulation strategies
Closing & Integration - “One trauma-informed practice I’ll bring back to my team”A 2-Day Immersive Program exploring the six developmental movement patterns ( Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen & Ruella Frank ) working with the principles of pendulation and titration ( Levine)
